NEPAL NAMCHE BAZAAR

DAY 01: KATHMANDU   

Arrival in Kathmandu. Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer to hotel.

DAY 02: KATHMANDU 

AM – Half day sightseeing to Kathmandu city and Swayambhunath 

Kathmandu Durbar Square: Kathmandu Durbar Square ("UNESCO World Heritage Site") also known as Hanuman Dhoka square is one of the major attractions in Kathmandu Valley. The Durbar square is surrounded with spectacular architecture and vividly showcases the skills of the Newari artists and craftsmen over several centuries. The Kathmandu Durbar Square holds the palaces of the Malla and Shah Kings who ruled over the city. 

Swayambhunath: The stupa is one of the holiest Buddhist sites in Nepal and its establishment is linked to the creation of the Kathmandu Valley out of a primordial lake. 

 

PM - Half day sightseeing to Patan city. 

Patan Durbar Square: Patan unlike most of other cities in Nepal has majority of Buddhist population. The Patan city has more than 136 Buddhist monasteries and only 50 Hindu temples.

DAY 03: KATHMANDU – PHAKDING (2,743M) 

The flight from Kathmandu to Lukla has to be one of the most spectacular in the world - Twin Otters fly this route of contrasting country with the snow line of the Himalayan range to the north and rugged foothills of Nepal immediately below and stretching away to the south.  The landing at Lukla airstrip 2800m adds considerably to the general excitement and expectation.  After a sort out and a cup of tea the trail leads North West and descends to the river at Phakding 2,652m. Time – 3 hours 

 

We stay in a local lodge at Phakding. (B, L, D). 

 

DAY 04  NAMCHE (3,445M) 

After three hours of following the banks of the Dudh Kosi River we come to a spectacular suspension bridge which marks the start of the climb up to Namche.  Near the half-way point up the hill views of Everest 8,848m and Lhotse 8,511m come into sight.  Namche is the most prosperous and largest town in the Khumbu.  A tradition trading center, a market is held every Saturday.  The wares on display include grains and vegetables, tennis shoes and trinkets as well as hand woven aprons and Tibetan boots.  Thamserku 6,648m and Kwangde 6,224m loom to the east and west, and the sacred mountain Khumbila 5,707m dominates the skyline to the north behind the village. Time - 6 hours.

DAY 05  NAMCHE 

Day hike around the Namche village.

DAY 06           NAMCHE – LUKLA – KATHMANDU 

After breakfast trek back to Lukla. Stop at Phakding for lunch and continue walking. Time - 7 hours. 

Flights to Kathmandu operate during the mornings before the winds above the Dudh Kosi build up. The take-off is as spectacular as the earlier landing - and then 45 minutes later, Kathmandu.

DAY 07: KATHMANDU – POKHARA 

After breakfast, Drive Pokhara. The total distance is about 210 km. 

Upon arrival at Pokhara, check-in at hotel. 

Pokhara: Pokhara is famous for its lake and it’s amazing views of the Annapurna range include Annapurna I and VI, Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre. Early morning drive around 30 minute to reach Sarankot from there you can see the very panoramic view of the mountain, truly a photographers paradise

DAY 08: POKHARA 

AM: Excursion to Hill station of Pokhara for Sunrise view. 

 

PM: Local sightseeing in Pokhara visiting Davi’s fall, Bindyabasini temple, Mahendra pool and a boating on Phewa Lake. 

 

Overnight at hotel in Pokhara (B, D). 

 

Day 09:  POKHARA – KATHMANDU 

After breakfast leave for Kathmandu. The total distance is about 210 km. 

Check-in at Hotel.

Day 10: KATHMANDU – NAGARKOT 

Drive to Nagarkot (2100meter) en route visit Changu Narayan 

Nagarkot: It is magnificent place to view the panorama of major peaks of eastern Himalaya range including top Mt. Everest on clear days. It is also very stunning to watch sunrise and sunset over Himalayan ranges 

Changu Narayan: This historic temple is said to be the oldest Hindu temple still in use in the Kathmandu Valley. 

 

Overnight at hotel in Nagarkot (B, D). 

 

Day 11: NAGARKOT – KATHMANDU   

Drive back to Kathmandu, en route visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square 

Bhaktapur:  Also known as city of devotees, Bhaktapur is the home of medieval art and architecture. Lying 14 kilometers/9 miles east of Kathmandu City, this place was founded in the 9th Century and is shaped like a conch shell.

Day 12: KATHMANDU 

AM - Sightseeing of the ancient Hindu temple of Pashupatinath (entrance inside the temple for Hindus only) and the Buddhist stupa of Boudhanath 

Pashupatinath: It the most important Hindu temple in Nepal, it is one of the most important Shiva temples on the subcontinent and draws numerous devotees from all over India each year. 

Boudhanath: It is one of the largest stupas in South Asia, and it has become the focal point of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal. 

 

PM: Free time for Individual activities. 

 

Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu (B, D). 

 

Day 13: DEPARTURE 

Kathmandu Meeting and assistance to the airport for return flight (B).
