DAY 05: AGRA - FATEHPUR SIKRI - ABHANERI - JAIPUR

After breakfast, you will drive from Agra to Jaipur (251 kms/6 hours).

Visit Fatehpur Sikri. This deserted, red sandstone city, built by Emperor Akbar, between 1570 and 1585, now glows in its magnificent past.

In the northern part of the courtyard is the superb white marble tomb of Shaik Salim Chishti, built in 1570. Legend says, Akbar was without a male heir, he made a pilgrimage to this spot, the saint foretold the birth of Akbar’s son, Jehangir. In gratitude Akbar named his son Salim.

DAY 06: FULL DAY SIGHTSEEING OF JAIPUR

After breakfast, you will enjoy an excursion to Amer Fort 12 kms outside Jaipur. The original palace was built by Raja Mansingh the additions were made by Sawai Jai Singh. One of the finest example of Rajput architecture, it was the ancient capital of Kacchawah rulers.

Enjoy the ascent to the palace on back of a brightly caparisoned elephant. Tour the chamber and hallways of the palace which are famous for their design and decorations. This unique capital of the erstwhile warrior kings is a must on every tourist itinerary to the state.

You also visit the unique Jantar Mantar magnificent stone observatory built by Raja Jai Singh in 1728. The Hawa Mahal, the intriguing “ Palace of Winds” is really a facade built in 1799, to allow royal ladies to view the city from the windows. Visit the City Palace, former royal residence built in a blend of Rajasthani and Mughal style and its museums an excellent collection of miniature paintings, costumes and armoury.

DAY 07: JAIPUR - JODHPUR

Visit the Fort MehranGarh( 1453 AD), rising on a hilly scarp, built on the advice of a hermit, which overlooks the city in the image of a long sentinel. Inside the Fort are a number of palaces added by successive rulers

Also visit Jaswant Thada( 1893 AD). The cenotaphs of the former rulers are imposing and architecturally remarkable

DAY 08: JODHPUR-RANAKPUR-UDAIPUR

Morning drive from Jodhpur to Ranakpur(195 kms-05 hrs)

Arrive Ranakpur and Enroute Lunch at local restaurant hotel.

Later visit Ranakpur temples , which has one of the biggest Jain temples in India. The Ranakpur complex lies in a remote and peaceful valley of the Aravalli ranges.

Chaumukha (the four-faced temple), is dedicated to Adinath. Built in 1439, this huge, beautifully crafted and well-kept marble complex has 29 halls, supported by 1444 pillars, none of which are alike. Within the complex are two other Jain temples.

DAY 09:UDAIPUR

In the morning, we begin our tour with a visit to the City Palace. At this palace complex, we will marvel at the rooms with mirrored walls and ivory doors, colored glass windows, inlaid marble balconies and the peacock courtyard. Visit Temple of the Sun God, with its erotic sculptures. We also visit the lovely Sahelion-ki-Bari gardens, the Jagdish temple and local folk Museum.

In the late afternoon, we enjoy a motor launch cruise on the placid waters of Lake Pichola. The beautiful Lake Pichola was enlarged by Maharana Udai Singh after he founded the city. The city palace extends a considerable distance along the east bank of the lake. From the boat you will be able to view the city of Udaipur as it rises majestically above the lake in the middle of the Rajasthan desert. One would get an interesting view of the Dhobi (laundry) ghats.
